_ Almost 57 million people nationwide ride bicycles. These numbers are increasing. After all, bicycling:
Unfortunately, the dangers of cycling discourage many people from making bicycling a greater part of their lifestyle. In fact, the number one reason people do not ride bicycles is because they are afraid of being hit by cars or trucks.
In 2009, 630 bicyclists were killed in the U.S alone and 51,000 were injured.
It's no surprise either. After all, a distracted driver can easily hit an unsuspecting cyclist on the side of the road. After talking to avid cyclists, we learned:
